BE2850 – High Stability Current Source: ±2A ±50V
High-stability ±2A / ±50V current source for magnet and diode applications.
Operates on inductive loads up to 10H with <25 ppm noise and 19-bit resolution.
Description
The BE2850 is a bipolar current source designed for magnet or diode power supply applications.
It operates safely and stably with inductive loads up to 10H, offering very low noise (<25 ppm peak-to-peak) and a 19-bit programming resolution.
Two user-selectable operating ranges allow optimal performance depending on load inductance:
-
Low Inductance mode (“Low L”): for loads up to 200 mH, offering fast settling time regardless of inductance.
-
High Inductance mode (“High L”): for loads up to 10H, with settling time depending on inductance.
The BE2850 is a 2-quadrant current source with transient 4-quadrant operation, allowing it to safely sink energy stored in inductive loads during current changes or power-down sequences.
It features analog and digital control loops for improved stability and noise rejection.
The module offers a programmable current slope from 10 mA/s to 100 A/s, read-back of voltage and current, and supports synchronization between multiple sources in one or several chassis via trigger, Ethernet, or UDP broadcasting.
Safety features include:
-
No transient on power on/off
-
Internal relay shorting the output when off or during power failure
-
Interlock input (global or individual module)
-
Optional output for external relay control
